Andrew Keech - Music from the Movies, UK, No 35/36
The music of Serge Franklin is wonderfully complex and deeply sensitive. Each listening brings new discoveries and nuances to delight. Although the classical atmosphere may not appeal to all, this is high quality music, far deeper and involved than most music for television projects and deserves a wide audience.

Stephen Armstrong - Film Score Monthly, November 2002
Each score bears Franklin’s elegant stamp, and Disque Cinemusique deserves a great deal of praise for making his music this much easier to find.

John Sunier, Audiophile Audition, June 05, 2008
Frankliin’s music is important to the first film, Une petite fille particulière, contributing a warm tone to the touching story. A more lush score is heard for Prince of the Imposters, with some dissonant passages and plenty of dramatic tension. Franklin always did his own orchestrations, and they are very complex.

Robert Schulslaper - Fanfare, USA, May-June 2008, Issue 31:5
Serge Franklin’s music for Une petite fille particulière, while sometimes somber, conceals an optimistic core cloaked in innocence, nicely depicted by a recurring piano theme accentuated by single xylophone notes, the whole progressing with a steady, reassuring pulse. It evokes a sun-dappled wood as a setting for an idealized vision of childish pursuits.
